Pro Superior Construction is a James Hardie Elite Preferred Contractor which is the highest certification issued by Hardie. Once the siding replacement quote was finalized I knew the project would go smoothly, but they absolutely went above and beyond.

Although the primary goal was to replace the house’s original siding (due to age) I had several energy and structural improvements to incorporate into the job given the rare opportunity of the walls being opened. When I listed the specific products I was interested in installing on the framing it was a relief that they had firsthand experience using the very same products. Although I have standard 2×4” stud walls we achieved a combined R-value of at least R-21 which will save money in energy year over year. On top of that the seismic brackets and sheathing have greatly improved the structural integrity of the house which could end up paying off very quickly, should a major earthquake hit.

Another design objective was to increase the house’s resistance to wildfire, embers, etc. The fact that they used W.U.I approved Vulcan vents by default was yet another green light to go with them.

Because the house’s siding was 44 years old it was impossible to estimate what was going on underneath. As anticipated, there was some water damage but on the upside the team wasn’t in a rush to “just get the job done” and move to the next one. They spent nearly an entire extra day replacing several water damaged studs and wall plates. The material and labor fees for the water damage repairs were very reasonable, which meant they weren’t making much profit on this phase of the project. What that did mean was that they truly cared about what I wanted and what was best for our house. Although the unplanned work pushed out the completion date they were fully on board with doing it the right way.

The team used high end equipment such as a true airless sprayer. This saved me money in that a big percentage of the paint went on the walls rather than being wasted as over-spray. They also used an adjustable work platform rather than scaffolding or ladder + boards combinations. This made their job easier which resulted in much more precise work.

One of the things I greatly appreciated about Pro Superior Construction was that they took the time to research and come back with good advice and recommendations instead of just saying yes.

Once the job was complete there were zero loose ends and Sergio, the project manager, even took the time to walk the job to make sure I was completely happy with the end result.
