Certified Contractors

Pro Superior Construction is a James Hardie Certified, family owned siding and window company serving San Jose, CA and the wider Bay Area, fully licensed and insured under CSLB #986607 and BBB accredited with an A+ grade since 2019.

We install, replace, and repair siding on residential and commercial properties across San Jose, from single-family houses to apartment buildings. What separates our company from most siding contractors is the order of operations: we inspect the whole wall system, weather-resistive barrier, flashing, sheathing, trim, and the gutter line, before we put a number on paper, and our team handles the San Jose building permit. Our crews have been doing this work since 2013.

Our office is in Rocklin, and San Jose is an established service area for us, not a placeholder on a map. Get a free, no-obligation estimate on your San Jose project today, or call (916) 474-4483.

Siding Services We Provide Across San Jose, CA

We are siding experts first: siding installation, replacement, and repair, with windows close behind. Siding materials and profile get chosen on site against your home’s era, exposure, and wall condition, never sold out of a catalog. The City identifies the tract ranch as San Jose’s most common house type, often clad in stucco, clapboard, shingle, or a mix, and mixed cladding changes how a siding installation has to be detailed.

James Hardie and Fiber Cement Siding Installation

James Hardie Certified means our installers work to the manufacturer’s own standards for fastening, clearances, and flashing detail, so a third party sets the bar for quality. Fiber cement holds up through San Jose’s long dry summers and concentrated winter rain, and its durability supports wildfire hardening on foothill properties. The City’s siding guidance calls for an integrated weather-resistive barrier, flashing, structural attachment, compliant fasteners, sealing, and clearance above grade, roofs, and decks, which is exactly the detail work certification covers. We also install LP SmartSide, vinyl siding, and wood siding where those material options suit the home better.

Full Siding Replacement on San Jose Ranch and Postwar Homes

Most full siding replacement projects we quote in San Jose are single-story postwar ranches, and for good reason: a City building-stock analysis found that 64% of San Jose single-family homes were built from 1950 through 1977. Those walls often carry stucco, clapboard, and shingle sections that were never detailed to work together. We treat removal of the old cladding, new weather-resistive barrier, flashing, trim, and finish as one system, and we document what is behind it before new materials go on.

Siding Repair, Dry Rot, and Trim Work

Not every problem needs a full project. We replace cracked boards and repair siding and trim around windows, doors, deck attachments, gutters, and roof-to-wall transitions, which is where water usually finds its way in. San Jose does not require a permit for a siding repair affecting less than 10 square feet of wall area. If we open the wall and the dry rot runs further than expected, you see photos and a written scope before our crew continues.

Fire-Resistant and WUI-Compliant Siding for Foothill Properties

If your property sits in a mapped Wildland-Urban Interface area, San Jose’s WUI policy requires permit plans to show ignition-resistant exterior wall-covering details. The City identifies the East Foothills and Almaden Valley as communities especially vulnerable to wildfire. Zone status is confirmed address by address, never assumed from a neighborhood name, and we check yours before design starts. We install ignition-resistant siding, not fireproof siding, and it should protect your home without giving up curb appeal.

Window and Door Replacement Alongside New Siding

We install and replace windows from Milgard, Andersen, Anlin, Alside, Amsco, Lindsay, and Plygem. The practical case for replacing windows and entry doors while the siding is off: flashing and weather-resistive barrier at every opening get detailed once, as one continuous assembly, instead of being cut into later. Openings are where walls usually fail. If you are remodeling the exterior anyway, that is also when we can document insulation gaps we find around openings. One crew, one schedule, one finished look.

Multifamily, Commercial Siding, and Mobile Homes

We take on apartment and condo facades, HOA-scale exteriors, commercial siding, and mobile home siding, with a Senior Multi Family Project Manager on staff for larger properties. San Jose’s 2020 housing data counted 92,667 units in buildings of five or more units and 10,959 mobile homes, and those customers deserve the same certified installation a detached house gets.

Why San Jose Area Homeowners Choose Our Company

Start with credentials, because that is what everyone asks first when comparing siding contractors in San Jose. We hold CSLB #986607, and you can verify it yourself in about a minute through the California Contractors State License Board’s license lookup. We are a James Hardie Certified Installation Company, fully licensed and insured, family owned since 2013, BBB accredited with an A+ grade since 2019, and ranked in the top 2% of California licensed contractors per BuildZoom. We have helped hundreds of customers since we opened.

Now the honest part about geography. Our office is in Rocklin, not San Jose, and we compete on craftsmanship and certification rather than on being the closest truck or the deepest discount. San Jose neighbors get the same crews and the same standards we bring to any address. If proximity alone made a good siding contractor in San Jose, nobody would need to check a license.

We also put quality ahead of speed, and our relationship with our clients is why. Crews are not pulled off your walls to start the next job. If we find rotted sheathing, failed flashing, or pest damage behind your old siding, you get photographs and a written change order, and nothing extra proceeds without your approval.

How Our San Jose Siding Projects Work, Step by Step

  • Free on-site inspection and written scope. A contractor inspects your walls and gives you an itemized scope covering demolition, disposal, weather-resistive barrier, flashing, trim, siding, finish, permits, and cleanup.
  • Materials and color selection. We weigh durability, profile, lap exposure, trim depth, and color against your home’s period and street, then confirm material availability before ordering.
  • Permit pathway confirmed for your address. A building permit is required to replace exterior stucco or siding on an existing San Jose home or building. Qualifying like-for-like stucco replacements on single-family or duplex properties can be issued over the counter; other projects go to Standard Plan Review. We determine which applies and our team handles the filing.
  • Installation. Tear-off is staged so walls are not left open ahead of forecast rain, the weather-resistive barrier and flashing are integrated at every window, door, gutter penetration, and roof-to-wall connection, and your project stays inspection-ready with the approved plans and Permit Card on site.
  • Final walkthrough. We walk the exterior with you. The job isn’t done until you’re satisfied.

On timing, we will not hand you a turnaround promise before we have seen the house. Permit review and material lead times set the schedule, not a sales pitch.

What Makes a Siding Project in San Jose Different

Three things shape the work here: the permit process, the housing stock, and the wet season.

The permit. The City of San José Planning, Building and Code Enforcement Department issues siding permits, and the Permit Center sits at City Hall, 200 E. Santa Clara St., 1st Floor. The over-the-counter stucco pathway is unavailable for properties in specified flood, geohazard, landslide, WUI, Planned Development, or historic-resource situations, which is why we check your address before committing to a schedule.

The houses. Detached single-family homes made up 52.5% of San Jose’s 2020 housing stock, and the era shifts block to block. Naglee Park holds early-20th-century bungalows and Spanish Colonial Revival residences. North Willow Glen is mostly small-lot housing from roughly 1885 to 1955, near the business district along Lincoln Avenue. Much of the Saratoga Avenue corridor in West San Jose went up from the 1950s through the 1970s. The Eichler tracts in Morepark, Fairglen, Hudson, and Fairhaven date from 1952 through 1963, and a generic lap-and-trim package is the wrong answer there. Homes on the Historic Resources Inventory may need Planning clearance before a permit is issued.

The weather and the ground. San Jose’s semiarid Mediterranean climate, with warm dry summers and a cited mean annual precipitation of 15.08 inches, gives a long practical install window. The difference shows up in the wet months, in weather-resistive barrier continuity, correctly lapped flashing, and clean water handling at gutters and downspouts. San Jose falls in marine climate Zone 3C for the applicable stucco drainage-plane requirements, and hillside addresses in mapped geologic, landslide, or liquefaction zones may need City geologic clearance first.

Not sure which applies to your property? Send us your address and we will check the permit pathway and zone status for you.
